.bg is the Internet country code top-level domain (ccTLD) for Bulgaria. It is currently operated by the private company Register.bg, owned by Bulgarian ISP pioneer Digital Systems.

Due to a dubiously upheld monopoly, the price of domain registrations and annual renewals is exceptionally high (120 USD) in comparison with other top-level domains. This has led many — if not most — Bulgarian sites, regardless of financial background, to register .com, .org, or .net domains in protest against the situation.
