The 1950 World Series matched the defending champion New York Yankees against the Philadelphia Phillies. The Phillies, a particularly young team which came to be known as the "Whiz Kids", had won the National League pennant for only the second time in their history, the last time having been in 1915. The Yankees swept the Series in 4 games for their second consecutive championship, and their 13th overall.
Umpires: Jocko Conlan (NL), Bill McGowan (AL), Dusty Boggess (NL), Charlie Berry (AL), Al Barlick (NL: outfield only), Bill McKinley (AL: outfield only)
