The 1962 African Nations Cup was the third edition of the African Nations Cup, the soccer championship of Africa (CAF). It was hosted by Ethiopia. The field expanded to four teams, and, for the first time, qualification was necessary. Tunisia and Uganda made their first AFC appearances to join hosts Ethiopia and champions Egypt. Ethiopia won its first championship, beating Egypt in the final 4-2 after extra time.
