• In the fictional Star Trek chronology, first contact between humans and Vulcans is made on April 5 of this year. (See Zefram Cochrane.) It is also the year of the first successful Terran warp flight.

2065

• November 22 - Venus will occult Jupiter. This event will be the first occultation of a planet by an other since January 3, 1818. Unfortunately this event will be very difficult to observe, because the elongation of Venus and Jupiter from the sun on November 22, 2065 will be only 7 degrees.
