Diversity

Alltel received a 0% rating on the Corporate Equality Index released by the Human Rights Campaign in 2004, because they actively opposed a shareholder resolution to include sexual orientation in their non-discrimination policy. Alltel was the only company to receive such a score in 2004. In December of 2004, Alltel amended its non-discrimination policy to include sexual orientation. ALLTEL’s score is now 29% . ALLTEL’s shift in policy came at the urging of its shareholders, led by Walden Asset Management.
