A Collection of Great Dance Songs is a compilation album by Pink Floyd released November 23 1981 (see 1981 in music) on Harvest/EMI in the UK and Columbia Records in the US originallly. The album was Gold certified by the RIAA on January 29 1982 and Platinum on July 6 1989. The album reached #37 on the UK charts and #31 in the US. Columbia issued the remastered CD in 1997 in the US and rest of the world. Then the CD was re-re-released in 2000 on Capitol Records in the US and EMI for the rest of the world outside the US.

The title is somewhat facetious, considering that the majority of the tracks are difficult to dance to. "Money" for instance, is in 7/8 time.
