Aaliyah was a 2001 self-titled album by the American singer Aaliyah; it was her third and last album. The album debuted in the top 5 but quickly jumped to number one after the tragic death of Aaliyah. The album went on to go double platinum (selling 2.4 million records). Despite the album's success, the singles werent as successful as the singles on her previous LP, One In A Million.
Although Aaliyah is her most mature and last project, it showcased the abilities of an up an coming powerhouse.
