Aberffraw - Definition and Overview

Aberffraw is a small village on the south west coast of Anglesey, by the west bank of the River Ffraw.

The village was the seat of the Princes of Gwynedd from the 9th century to the 13th century. The Princes' palace lasted until 1282 when Llywelyn was killed.

Interesting attractions near Aberffraw village include Llyn Coron (an inland lake), the 7th century church of Saint Cwyfan (which still holds services in the summer), and Aberffraw beach.

Access by car is via the A4080; the nearest rail station would be Bodorgan.
