Ackworth, West Yorkshire - Definition and Overview |

Ackworth, West Yorkshire, is one of the largest villages in England, situated between Pontefract, Barnsley and Doncaster on the small River Went.
It comprises two regions - High Ackworth (on a hill!) and Low Ackworth (At the bottom of the hill towards Pontefract).
It is home to one of the oldest schools in Britain - Ackworth School.
