From 1996 to 2002, Adroit (aka Adroyt) was the hacker personality developed by Joe Carlson, the lead FBI investigator into the hacker group Phone Losers of America. He provided evidence which led to the group's founder's (Brad Carter) arrest and conviction. He was made infamous for the use of questionable tactics and physical violence in tracking down suspects. In 2003 he lost his position at the FBI for said tactics and now works out of New Hampshire's Internet Fraud Bureau.
