The Aetherium is said by some to be another plane of existence. Some say that this is the realm where God resides.

The Aetherium features heavily in the video game Indiana Jones and the Infernal Machine. In this envisioning, it was composed primarily of bluish mists and almost entirely insubstantial to the protagonist, who entered it near the end of the game. While in the Aetherium, Dr Jones constantly sustained damage to his health as a direct result of being outside his usual plane. In this envisioning, the god Marduk was the ruler of the Aetherium.
