Related Words: Irrationality

The Age of Unreason is a series of four books written by Gregory Keyes.

There is also a popular business book titled The Age of Unreason by Charles Handy, (Harvard Business School Press, 1989)

Setting

The story spans the late seventeenth and early eighteenth century. The author makes use of fictional sciences (scientific alchemy instead of our physics) that were popular at the time: using affinity and aether, for example. Some historical characters appear: Isaac Newton, Louis XIV of France, Benjamin Franklin and Peter the Great of Russia have important roles in various volumes. Action moves between England (eventually destroyed by giant dinosaur-killer meteorite) and France, later involving Russia, Austria and the American Colonies.
