Air Europa Líneas Aéreas, S.A. is a Spanish airline founded in 1984 with its base in Baleares, Spain. Its IATA airline code is UX.
Previously known as Air España, S.A., it was the first Spanish private company to operate national scheduled flights (besides charter flights which used to be its main business). It is owned by Globalia Corporación Empresarial S.A.
Its aircraft fleet consists of 1 Boeing 737-300, 6 Boeing 737-400s, 2 Boeing 737-600s, 20 Boeing 737-800s and 4 Boeing 767-300s. Air Europa currently flies to a number of airports in Spain, Europe, the Caribbean and South America, with plans to expand into Poland, Hungary and the Czech Republic and join the SkyTeam global alliance in November, 2004.
