Aisne River - Definition and Overview

Aisne is a river in France, tributary of the river Oise. It gave its name to the French département Aisne. Its source is in the département Meuse, near the town Vaubecourt. It flows through the départements Meuse, Marne, Ardennes, Aisne and Oise. It flows into the river Oise in Compiègne. Its length is approx. 300 km.

Cities along the river include Sainte-Menehould, Vouziers, Rethel, Soissons and Compiègne.
