Alain Whyte - Definition

Alain Whyte (born 3 July, 1967) is a guitarist who has worked with Morrissey since 1991. (He is English and his name is pronounced "AL-an", not "a-LAIN" in the French fashion.)

He writes the musical portion of many of Morrissey's songs. These include:

  • "First of the Gang to Die" (You Are the Quarry)
  • "Sunny" (My Early Burglary Years)


Whyte has also performed in the bands Born Bad, The Memphis Sinners, and Johnny Panic.
