Alamo Beer - Definition and Overview |
Alamo Beer is a fictional brand of beer enjoyed by many characters on the animated series King of the Hill.
In one episode, Alamo beer accidentally tainted with soap is withdrawn from the American market but is still sold in Mexico, creating a shortage in the U.S. Characters Hank, Bill Dauterive, Boomhauer, and Dale go to Mexico to buy some, but find that the tainted beer makes them vomit. Thanks to Peggy Hill who had obtained a job in Alamo's customer service department, the scheme is exposed, and all the tainted beer is recalled.
In early 2004, an actual brewery in San Antonio, Texas opened, and marketed a beer with the same name. (http://www.alamobeer.com)
