Alastair Pilkington - Definition

Lionel Alexander Bethune Pilkington known as Sir Alastair Pilkington (1920-1995) was the inventor of Float glass. Knighted in 1970 he was educated at Sherborne School and Trinity College, Cambridge. He was a director of the Bank of England.
