Mythology
Albion is the original tutelary god of Britain. He is the Titan son of Poseidon and brother of Atlas. He assisted Atlas and Iberius (god of Ireland) to contest the Western passage of Hercules.

- The phrase Perfidious Albion meaning "treacherous Britain" was coined in a poem of 1793 by Augustin, Marquis of Ximenez.
- Albion’s England is the title of a long historical poem on the history of England published in 1586 by William Warner.
