Alessandro De Tomaso (lived 1928 - 2003 was an automobile industrialist in Italy.
Born in Argentina as Alejandro De Tomaso (sometimes his original name is mentioned), he started his career as a racing driver. He married Isabell Haskell who was racing also. The couple moved to Italy in the late 1950s.
Originally, De Tomaso designed various prototypes including racers.
In 1959, he founded his company (see De Tomaso) and built some expensive, remarkable sports cars.
From 1975, De Tomaso helped restructuring Maserati.
De Tomaso had been involved in other car manufacturing ventures such as Innocenti and owned Italian motorcycle manufacturing companies Benelli and from 1972 Moto Guzzi.
De Tomaso died in 2003.
