Alrewas is a village appoximately 5 miles north of Lichfield in the county of Staffordshire. It lies on the confluence of the Trent & Mersey Canal and The River Trent, and was previously the seat of The Bishop of Lichfield. It is currently under threat by unscrupulous property developers intending to build "Essington Park".
Alrewas is sited adjacent to the A38, which follows the line of Ryknild Street, a Roman road.
Sited just south of Alrewas is the National Memorial Arboretum.
