American Chopper - Definition

American Chopper is a Discovery Channel television series. This cult series tracks the daily tension, tirades and triumphs of a father and son team as they run a business creating custom motorbike masterpieces in their Orange County, New York, workshop, Orange County Choppers.

Narrated by Mark Wingett, aka The Bill’s PC Jim Carver, American Chopper follows the company founder, moustached and tattooed Paul Teutul Sr., and his talented chief designer and fabricator, Paul Teutul Jr. The contrasting attitudes of the men and their propensity for sulking lead to fiery but funny exchanges as they meet seemingly impossible deadlines for building incredible one-of-a-kind custom choppers.

The Teutuls are filmed as they work together in their shop, creating dozens of custom motorbikes. Their renowned theme choppers include the Black Widow spider bike, the Comanche Bike and the Fireman Bike, built in memory of the New York City firefighters who lost their lives in the September 11, 2001 attacks. The cameras also travel with them to everything from magazine photo shoots to client unveilings, family holidays and custom bike shows.
