Analord is a series of twelve-inch vinyl recordings by acclaimed UK-based electronic music artist Richard D. James, under his various recording names. The first disc (Analord 10) was made available to buy on December 15, 2004 through the Rephlex Records website, and was packaged in a leather binder with sleeves to house the rest of the series. The release was marketed under the alias Aphex Twin, however, Analord 1 and 2 are accredited to the AFX pseudonym which refers to James' earlier style. If this trend continues, Analord will be a conceptual set of releases that trace James' evolution throughout the years, with each Analord release representing different areas of his recording career. Analord 10 marks a return to Richard's early acid techno years combined with his frantic drill and bass programming. The discs are loud-cut, 180 gram vinyl. According to Rephlex, there are plans for a release in a 'more common format' later this year.
The title Analord most probably origins from Luke Vibert's track Analord on his vinyl release '95 - '99 on Planet Mu and his first full length album on the Warp label, YosepH, also relying heavily on the classic "acid" sound.
