Angel Munoz is regarded by many as the father of professional computer gaming and was selected by Texas Monthly magazine as one of the "25 Most Powerful Texans in High Tech."
In 1997, Angel launched the Cyberathlete Professional League (CPL) to organize and sanction computer game tournaments as a professional sport. In the process, he coined the term 'cyberathlete', now a registered trademark of the league.
