Angst (which means fear in German), is a supermarket chain of 14 stores in Romania. It has a range of 10,000 products, mainly foodstuffs, and is the second largest Romanian supermarket chain, in a country where the retail industry is still dominated by independent shops and supermarkets, not chains. Angst is owned by a Swiss-Romanian joint venture. Angst operates mainly in Bucharest but is based in the town of Buftea, near the capital. It employs 670 people. The motto of Angst is Excelenta face diferenta (Romanian: Excellence makes difference)
