 Arabella Churchill - Definition 

Arabella Churchill (1648-1730) was the mistress of King James II of England and VII of Scotland, and the mother of at least four of his children.

An older sister of John Churchill, 1st Duke of Marlborough, she began her relationship with James, then Duke of York, in about 1665, while he was still married to Anne Hyde. Arabella became the duchess's lady-in-waiting in that year, and in 1667 gave birth to a daughter, Henrietta. Their affair continued until after James's marriage to Mary of Modena, and produced at least three more children. These included James FitzJames, 1st Duke of Berwick and Henry FitzJames, 1st Duke of Albemarle.

Arabella Churchill (1949)

Arabella Churchill was born on October 30th 1949 and is the granddaughter of Sir Winston Churchill, the daughter of Winston' s son Randolph Churchill and his second wife June Osborne.

In 1972 she married Jim Barton, and in 1973 had a son, Jake.

In 1979, Arabella set up the Children's Area of the Glastonbury Festival and also the Theatre Area. She now runs the Theatre and Circus Fields.

In 1987, Arabella met her second husband, a juggler Haggis McLeod and in 1988, they had a daughter, Jessica.

Arabella is the founder and the director of Children's World charity.
