Arathorn II - Definition and Overview

Arathorn II is a fictional character from J. R. R. Tolkien's universe of Middle-earth. He was the fifteenth of the Chieftains of the DĂșnedain.

Like his forefathers, he was raised by Elrond in Rivendell while his father Arador dwelt in the wild.

Arathorn became the Chieftain of the DĂșnedain in T.A. 2930, when his father was captured by Hill-Trolls. He ruled for only 3 years until 2933, when he was killed while hunting Orcs. He was followed by his infant son Aragorn II, also known as Elessar Telcontar.
