Archdemon Archdemon

Archdemon - Definition

An archdemon is a spiritual entity standing very high in the infernal hierarchy. Essentially the counterpart of an archangel. Arcdemons are described as leading legions of demons, just as archangels lead choirs of angels. There is a major controversy among occultists which demons can be classed as archdemons. During different ages some demons got 'promoted' to archdemons while others were completely forgotten, and new were created. In old Jewish lore pagan gods of nighbouring cultures were classed as the worst of spirits in order to protect the Jewish from woshiping them - so Baal and Astarte were among the worst of enemies of God. During the middle ages those were no longer important, new ones emerged mostly revolving around Satan/Lucifer such as the Antichrist. In the modern age occultists recognize a new breed of demons (or old ones in new form): the demons of steel and concrete led by an archdemon appropreately called: Mechanos.
