The argument of perigee is the angle subtending from the ascending node to the point of perigee (or periapsis) in an orbit. It is measured in degrees of arc, from 0° to 360°. A satellite with an argument of perigee of 0° will be crossing the Equator nortbound at perigee; at 180°, it will be crossing the Equator northbound at apogee.
