Arthur Brough was born in Hampshire in 1905 and died in 1978. An actor, he gained his greatest fame as Mister Ernest Grainger in the comedy series Are You Being Served? on BBC television. He had a minor role opposite Jayne Mansfield in the 1960 film The Challenge, and made guest appearances in TV shows such as Upstairs, Downstairs, Dad's Army, Z-Cars and Jason King.
