Artificial Intelligence (series) - Definition and Overview

Artificial Intelligence is a series of albums by Warp Records released in the early 1990s to exhibit the capabilities and sounds of electronic music. The series is remarkable for its inclusion of groups and individuals who would later become leaders in modern electronic music, techno, and ambient, such as Dr. Alex Patterson, Richard D. James, and Autechre. The series is also considered a major contribution to the genre of intelligent dance music (IDM).

The original AI series consisted of the following albums and corresponding artists:

Each of the albums was released on vinyl, Compact disc, and each of the artist albums were released on limited edition coloured or transparent vinyl.

A video release, entitled (Motion), was also released for the series.
