Asphodelaceae Juss. 1789 is a family of flowering plants. The Asphodelaceae are monocots, part of order Asparagales. The family is native to Africa and the Mediterranean basin to Central Asia, with one genus (Bulbinella) in New Zealand. The greatest diversity occurs in South Africa.
The genera of this family were formerly divided among the Liliaceae and Aloeaceae.
