The Association of Flight Attendants (commonly known as the AFA) is a union representing most flight attendants in the United States. They currenty serve 46,000 flight attendants at 26 airlines.

They currently represent flight attendants at:

They currently are led by Pat Friend.

The AFA also invented C.H.A.O.S. strikes which stands for Create Havoc Around Our System. In this type of strike, individual flight attendants are asked to leave flights. This will push flights under the minimum flight attendant staffing required by the FAA, thus the flight is delayed or cancelled. Flights operated by smaller aircraft in out stations are most likley to be affected by CHOAS. For example, it is unlikely for a United Airlines flight from Chicago to San Francisco operated by a Boeing 747 to be affected, but it is likely for a Boeing 737 flight Kansas City to Chicago to be affected. Employees cannot be fired for participating in CHAOS.
