Atmel Corporation is a manufacturer of semiconductors, founded in 1984. Its products include EEPROM and Flash memory devices, microcontrollers (including 8051 and ARM architectures) and its own Atmel AVR architecture, FPGAs and many others.

The President and CEO of Atmel is George Perlegos. His brother, Gust Perlegos, is Vice President. The number of employees is approximately 7,500. It is headquartered in San Jose, California.
