Austrian Airlines is the international airline carrier of Austria. Since 2003, Austrian Airlines is operating as Austrian. The airline has the IATA designator OS.

History
The airline was founded on September 30, 1957. On March 18 1958, the airline made its maiden flight, with a Vickers Viscount 779 taking off at 8:30 am Vienna local time for London.
September 26, 1960 became the only dark day in the airline's history when a Vickers Viscount 837 attempting to land at Moscow crashed near the Russian city. Thirty-one of the thirty seven people on board perished.
