Autopistas de Puerto Rico - Definition and Overview

The Autopistas de Puerto Rico are highways in Puerto Rico designed to replace Puerto Rico's older Interstate highways (PR-1, PR-2, and PR-3). Funding for these highways is collected by a system of tolls rather than the Interstate Highway System. They are all controlled-access. The Autopistas currently include PR-22, PR-52, and PR-53. A fourth Autopista, PR-66, is proposed for construction in the near future.
