Avnish Bajaj is the CEO of Baazee.com which is an Indian subsidiary of eBay. He was arrested on December 17th 2004 after a video clip showing two Indian students having oral sex were sold through Baazee.com. The company claims they were unaware of the nature of the images being sold and removed the offensive material as soon as they became aware of it. His arrest sparked the attention of the US State Department, as he is an American citizen, as well as publicity in India and throughout the world. He was released on bail on December 21st 2004 on condition of surrendering his passport. Bajaj is said to have broken a law under India's IT Act., that forbids "publishing, transmitting or causing to publish" obscene material.
