BBC World Service Television was the name given to the BBC's international satellite television channels between 1991 and 1995. In Europe, it was the name of the BBC's subscription-funded entertainment service, which replaced BBC TV Europe in April1991, while in Asia it was the name of the 24-hour news and information service, which launched in October, 1991.
In January, 1995, the news and information service was replaced by BBC World, and the subscription-funded entertainment service by BBC Prime.
