Back to School is a 1986 movie starring Rodney Dangerfield, Keith Gordon, Sally Kellerman, and Robert Downey, Jr. The plot centers on a wealthy but uneducated father (Dangerfield) who goes to college to show solidarity with his troubled son (Gordon) and learns that he can't buy his education. The movie features author Kurt Vonnegut, Jr. in a famous cameo.

Actor Keith Gordon later went on to direct Vonnegut's Mother Night, as well as to direct co-star Robert Downey, Jr., in The Singing Detective.
