Baen Books is a publishing house that publishes science fiction and fantasy novels, including numerous military science fiction genre works. They also created the Baen Free Library, an online collection of SF novels, as an experiment into free electronic publishing. Baen Books was founded in 1983 by Jim Baen.
Baen also operates webscription.net, a subscription-based web book program, and has created an online community at Baen's Bar.
