Baltimore Blast - Definition |

The name Baltimore Blast has been used by two different indoor soccer teams.
Original Team

The Baltimore Blast were a longtime member of the original MISL. From 1978-1980, the team was the Houston Summit but moved prior to the 1980-1981 season. The team won the league's championship in 1984.
Current Team

The Baltimore Blast were founded in July 1992 as the Baltimore Spirit in the NPSL. The team replaced the earlier Baltimore Blast, who folded along with the originial MISL. Eventually, the Spirit were renamed the Blast in 1998 and joined the new Major Indoor Soccer League in 2001.
