Ban Johnson - Definition

Ban Johnson (born 5 January 1864 in Norwalk, Ohio and died 28 March 1931 in St. Louis, Missouri) was founder of baseball's American League. He, as president of the Western League, renamed in American League in 1900. He soon became an important member of the National Commission until 1920. He was elected into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1937.
