Barolo Barolo

Barolo - Definition

Barolo is one of the most noble wines of Italy, one of many to claim the title "Wine of kings, and king of wines", it is produced in Asti's province "Monferrato".

Made from Nebbiolo grapes, Barolo stereotypically smells of tar and roses, and can take on an unusual orange tinge with age. Frequently this is a wine for long aging, although many examples are now appearing in a earlier-drinking, New World style. This is the subject of great controversy among producers and drinkers.
