Baten Kaitos: Eternal Wings and the Lost Ocean is a role-playing game for the Nintendo GameCube by Namco and Monolith Soft. The game tells the story of a young man named Kalas and his companion Xelha, who live in a land above the clouds where the Earth and the oceans have been forgotten.

This game is especially known for it's semi-unique battle system: Magnus cards. Using a hand of these cards, each battle is different.

Baten Kaitos is also the name of a star in the real-world constellation Cetus, the Whale. It translates to "The Belly of the Sea Monster/Whale" in Arabic. Given the focus of this game upon the oceans that have been lost beneath the clouds, and a whale-god, the choice of name seems quite apt.
