The term Battle of Passchendaele is normally used to refer to the Third Battle of Ypres (fought 31 July – 6 November, 1917). The more specific terms First Battle of Passchendaele (12 October) and Second Battle of Passchendaele (26 October – 6 November) are used to describe phases of the wider battle. This battle is documented in the article on Passchendaele.
Another Battle of Passchendaele (fought 10 October – 29 October, 1918), was an engagement of the French–British–Belgian army under French General Degoutte against the German army under General Rupprecht.
