Gulf of Naples is located in Southern Italy. It is bordered in the North by the City of Naples, in the East by the Mount Vesuvius, in the South by the Sorrentine Peninsula, and opens in the West to the Mediterranean. Islands of Capri and Ischia lie on both sides of the mouth of the gulf. The area is an important tourist destination.
