 Bear, AKA D7101 - Definition

Bear, AKA D7101 is a character from the television series Thomas the Tank Engine and Friends.

D7101 was a grumpy express diesel engine who arrived on the Island of Sodor with D199 on trial for the Fat Controller. He suffered from a failed injector and had to be rescued by Henry, but proved that he was a good sort by making friends with his rescuer, and the Fat Controller decided to give him a second chance.

His loud engine gives him a tendency to growl, but he is not bad-tempered. In fact, he is well-mannered. As a joke, the other engines gave him the nickname of Bear, but he liked it enough to keep it. He says that having a name means you really belong. The other engines would certainly agree that he belongs with them.

Bear mainly pulls passenger trains, and sometimes pulls the Express if Gordon is not able to do so.
