Benidorm is a town in the province of Alicante-Alacant, Valencian Country, Spain. Its permanent population is 52,800 (2000) (although its visitor population is far higher). It is most famous as being a major holiday resort. It has many tall hotels and apartment buildings.
Benidorm was a small fishing village until the 1960s, when the holiday trade began.
