Beulah was a 1940sradio show about an African American housekeeper named "Beulah". that later became an early television show, the first sitcom to star an African-American, in the 1950s. The show was criticized for its alleged stereotypical content, and identifying a black woman as "Beulah" is considered a racial slur (see Aunt Jemima).
