Beyond the Sea (2004) is an English language German-based production from Lions Gate Films about legendary singer Bobby Darin (1936-1973).
The film stars Kevin Spacey as Darin. Spacey, who produced, directed, and did all of his own singing, had for years longed to produce a bio-picture about Darin. With funding from Lions Gate and German production company QI Quality International GmbH & Co., the film was finally finished in 2004 and premiered that year at the Toronto International Film Festival.
