Biblical exegesis - Definition and Overview

Biblical exegesis is the branch of theology which investigates and expresses the true sense of holy scripture.

The proper exegeter is intent on expanding his knowledge of the contents of the material under review and does not question the authenticity of the books under study, nor attempt to prove their divine nature. He proceeds, accepting the canonized versions as gospel.
